Truth is the first victim of war…and we’re elbow deep into multiple conflicts.

    Dear Macron,

Perhaps focus on the “political” group that has an army bigger than the actual countries army and safe your former colony.

You’re words don’t matter, take action. If not, Israel will and you don’t get to cry about it due to your inaction.

I couldn’t believe he said this. From AOC I could believe it – she’s a shill for the rape deniers and useful idiots. But I thought he was a bit more rational and connected to reality. I mean, Hezb slaughtered dozens of French servicemen… does he not know this??

I get it, war is bad and there are better ways to handle this situation. But cmon man, taking the side of Lebanon and playing it like its the victim is just bs.

  5. Macron is right in this case. There is an increasing risk of a regional war and Israel seems to be in no hurry for negotiations or deescalating the conflict.

Timesofisreal didnt even opening it. Biased news source clearly

  7. No we don’t stand with levanon, they are looking for war, they will find it, none of our business

    Jfc WHAT?! Is he insane??

Edit: “Macron had had a stern phone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he told the premier, “You have a responsibility to prevent escalation. There is a diplomatic path. This is the moment to show leadership and responsibility. Your activities in the north are pushing the region to war”

    He can go fuck himself.

  9. If Macron wants to help, send your army in Lebanon and get rid of Hezbollah so the government and army takes full control of the country.

What does calling to deescalate mean when Hezbollah says they will continue attacking Israel no matter what?

  11. Hate to say it, but with France’s history with Lebanon, it would be terrible for them not to stand by them. Other European countries have different relationships with Lebanon. One thing with geopolitics is that sometimes our allies have different connections. It’s kind of like Canada with Cuba.

I am all for calling out Hez, though.

  12. Macron is just salty because Israel spurned his attempts of mediation in favor of the Americans. Exactly what pull do the French have in Lebanon at this point? The country’s just going from bad to worse and no amount of French platitudes going to save it, because it doesn’t have any influence on the biggest hurdle, which is Hezbollah.

Not that the Americans are much help either. The only one that can stop the escalation is Nasrallah himself or his Iranian overlords. I’m tired of this endless Western Chamberlain-esque capitulations to terrorist organizations, rogue states, and bad situations. It did diddly squat in North Korea, diddly squat in Iran, and diddly squat in Russia, and it’s doing diddly squat in Yemen, Lebanon, and Gaza.

I agree that IDEALLY Hezbollah, Hamas, Fatah Lebanon and Israel come to the table, agree this is all insane and call a ceasefire, then spend months hammering out a good peace deal to end the war with and make a permanent peace.

But do these factions want peace?

Macron calling for de-escalation is the equivalent of a video of a fight you see online where one guy not in the scrummage is saying ‘hey no stop it you don’t want to do this’ while 5 people are busy beating the shit out of each other 10 feet away.

Yes Ideally the 5 guys say ‘hang on, homie is right, this is stupid. Let’s just untangle ourselves and go our separate ways until we can cool off’ but I’ve seen many such videos and usually they end with someone getting knocked down at the very least, if not knocked out.

I don’t think Israel gives a fuck. Do your neighbours fire rockets into your country constantly? Didn’t think so

When the fuck did all of Europe lose its mind and let antisemitism override basic thinking?

“Fun” fact, the place where Jews are emigrating from in the largest numbers is France. I wonder why.

Then increase your deployment in UNIFIL and help it fulfill its mission. Or STFU…

Not a word from him that the person who killed over 100 French paratroopers got taken out by Israel last week – but he stands with Lebanon.

  20. plasmalightwave on

What idiotic position is this? “We stand with Lebanon”? Does he even know that Hezbollah members form part of the government?

Macron, ask Lebanon to expel all Hez members from its government. Ask Hez to cease all terror operations against Israel. Ask Hez to surrender to the Lebanese government.

Macron, you’re a coward and an idiot.

  21. he didn’t mention hezbollah because, just like every lebanese politician who SHOULD speak out against them but doesn’t, he’s afraid of being assassinated by them. safer to just virtue signal support

who knew the french were such cowards
