Ich habe diesen Meme-Beitrag auf Facebook gesehen, über den Leute gelacht haben. Ich habe den Witz nicht verstanden. Möchte mich irgendein Muttersprachler aufklären?

  1. St.Martin’s day is on 11. November. Traditionally it is celebrated by lighting up big fires and gathering around them and for children to make handheld lanterns the kind you see in this picture, wander through the village or city to these big fires and sing along the way. The most common song sung along the way is indeed translated “I walk with my lantern and my lantern walks with me. Above us the stars shine and down here it is us who shine”.

    If you see people in mid-autumn walking around with lanterns and *torches*, it is that celebration.
