  1. A reminder that retro games are horribly artificially inflated in price in most cases due to the stock market bros trying to make a quick buck.

Older games also used to be a bit more valuable cause there was no alternative method to playing em. These days you can often find tons of ways to play older games officially (and unofficially).

“Around 12,000 consoles […] estimated value of €47.5m”

I would estimate about 120,000€ – near nobody would ever pay €4000 for a spud console full of ancient games. I would guess the loss of income for the license owners to be close to zero.

12k “ziliton” consoles filled with games ain’t worth 50mil

They are worth about 10$ a piece if not less. Lol you can buy them on a billion websites, this whole thing seems so weird …

Oh, I was wondering how somebody was wearing a fake ring that was supposed to play retro video games somehow which then got broken. And was crazy expensive. Guess I’m terrible at reading headlines.

So what do i search for on amazon if i want one of these? Lol

  6. Oh these cheapie consoles. Saw them at the mall a couple years back. I was like damn, when did pirating go mainstream.

I thought “ring” meant the wearable ring…..who writes this type of idiotic headline?

  8. Honestly, if you can no longer buy the original, it should be fine to sell an imitation provided the customer is made aware of this fact. Net profit loss for the original seller is zero at that point.
