Doesn’t this guys bank get up to some real sketchy shit? Like money laundering for Russia, tax evasions, scams? Does he mean work harder at being criminal scum like his crime bank?

    [In case anyone wonders](https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/deutsche-bank-ag-reports-ceo-total-compensation-in-2021)

    > Deutsche Bank AG (DB) said its Supervisory Board determined total compensation on an individual basis for 2021. The total compensation for Christian Sewing, Chief Executive Officer, was 8.8 million euros, in 2021. It comprised: base salary of 3.6 million euros; a short term award of 3.1 million euros; and a long term award of 2.1 million euros. His total compensation was 7.4 million euros in 2020.

  5. Oh yeah, the financial community should totally tell Germans that their ‘laziness’ is the reason for problems. That never ended badly before…

  6. Don’t let them Americanise your work culture. It’s hell. Keep your hours and pensions. Bankers don’t give a shit about you, they just want money any way they can get it.

yeah I just considered that after my 46-hour week, thanks for reconfirming

    Germans: *concerned about their economy*

Deutsche Bank Chief: “Any of you guys like Daft Punk?”

  9. Does he imply Germans started to work shorter and softer? Or what exactly happened?

  10. A roommate of mine once did an internship at Deutsche Bank. He said his boss came 10cm close to his face and screamed at him at the top of his lung. Best not to take any advice about work from a workplace with a culture like that

Work longer and harder cause we keep approving loans to Donald Trump and we have to get the money from somewhere.

It’s not Deutsche Bank, it’s DOUCHE Bank.

“We’re no longer able to profit off of laundering russian money for Trump since we had to let go of SCOTUS Kennedy’s son who was handling all of it, after Trump’s team blackmailed him and his father in order to get his father to ‘retire’ early from the Supreme Court early. Sorry!(?)”

Work longer and harder so his bank can make more profits.

Meanwhile his bank has been caught many times laundering money and defrauding investors.

Wait can a German actually tell me what your average work week looks like? Deutsche Bank’s chief claims Germans only work 28 hours per week and that sounds too good to be true to my overworked American ass.

  17. I agree, Deutsche Bank chief.

You should work longer hours for the rest of us.

(Not so much fun when the shoe is on the other foot, yes?)

Mich beschleicht die leise Vermutung, dass Christian Sewing ein Widerling sein könnte.

The incessant chants of MORE MORE MORE of those with dragon fever fall on deaf ears.

  20. VoidMageZero on

Germany only works 28 hours/week on average? Kinda surprised, expected it to be higher.

Capitalism seems more and more like a religion.

GDP is our God, its growth sacred and untouchable. We sacrifice ourselves and our time for higher GDP in the holiest of sites, the workplace, where we serve the higher purpose of enriching the ones above us. Our preachers, the economists, make sense of the sacred texts of market-fundamentalists, unknown and unknowable to the unitiated in the arts of advanced mathematics, to the masses, justifying why they need to work longer and harder, even though their lives will not improve, lest all value produced by them will eventually end up in a rich person’s pocket.

We bow to the growth of GDP, knowing that ultimately it will destroy us in the worst ecological catastrophe known to mankind, yet we can’t do anything about it; our preachers and lords tell us everything will be alright, if only we produce more.

Medieval times seem strange to us, yet we indulge in a similarly strange and absolutely more deadly practices than people did back then. We are blind to our own doings.

I’m so tired of rich bloodsucking assholes telling people to “work harder, peasants!”

Just a short very non-exhaustive list of Deutsche Bank’s questionable business history:

    – Profited directly off of the Holocaust, including financing Auschwitz.

    – Was a big player in the fuckery that led to the financial crisis

    – Very into corporate espionage

    – Illegally fixed interest rates

    – Has willingly and illegally done business with sanctioned dictators and tyrants.

    – Looooves to launder some sweet sweet illegal cash and doesn’t mind some good old tax fraud on the side.

    – Happy to do some banking with Jeffrey Epstein

    – Has paid and continues to pay billions and billions in fines and penalties for an array of financial shenanigans and crimes that would make Bernie Madoff blush.

Gee, Christian, maybe if you guys and others like you weren’t so busy ratfucking everything to the point of collapse then maybe we could have a system where normal people wouldn’t have to work themselves half to death just to pay rent.

But then again, as perhaps the most famous investment of Deutsche Bank said “Arbeit Macht Frei”.

    Fuck you.
