      That checks out. There was a different post here a few days ago and the top comment thread wasn’t about the murder or the protests. It was basically someone mocking West Bengal for electing Mamata Banerjee and someone else accusing that guy of being a Modi sycophant.

      I remember when there was that brutal gang rape and murder on a bus and all the protests and how that was going to spark major reform…

      That was well over a decade ago.

      From Indian female friends, this is just a byproduct of a society that doesn’t value women at all.

      Sadly this will take generations to see any true progress.
