Does the EU need consensus with Hungary to do this? Why don’t they just all get together outside of the framework of the EU, since they are all still sovereign countries, and get this shit done? Fuck Hungary’s obstructionist government and go around them. What are they going to do? Jack shit.
Good, the US in not a reliable partner in this war. We should care for our self’s first
As an American I commend the EU’s action.
>“We will do whatever we can to support Ukraine, regardless of decisions in Washington,” Josep Borrell told reporters in Brussels ahead of an EU foreign ministers meeting Thursday when asked about US reluctance. “Ukraine needs to boost their defense capacities — and they need it now.”
GOOD.
Russia will respond with some more anti rest bullshit.
If anyone is wondering what’s happening meanwhile in Russia when it comes to European assets.
For a foreign entity to leave Russia, it’s forced to sell its assets at a steep discount after a valuation done by the Russian government (50% of valuation in 2023) and is then taxed on top of that with the last rate being I think 10% in 2023 and reportedly 30% today.
See this article from 2023 https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/moscow-demands-bigger-discounts-foreign-companies-exiting-russia-sources-2023-08-25/
Russia outright took control over Carlsberg in Russia https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66218999 if I recall correctly they are outright manufacturing and selling under the brand name despite having no rights to do.
Heineken “sold” its Russia operations for €1 https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66616161
I officially speak on the behalf of all Americans. “Good for them! Ignore Washington, continue fucking up anything and everything Russian or Russian related and anyone that supports their shit.”
>Some EU member states remain reluctant to loosen the rules, citing the threat of escalation.
fucking pussies.
US: No, please…anything but that!
See? I tried to be a voice of reason, but alas…
Hoorah for Europe, fuck the Nazis, take their shit.
As they should.
This is what I like to see. EU is dealing with a problem on their doorstep unlike the U.S.
