      I’m not saying this is the wrong sub, it’s just…, feels really bad to see that amount of fires in the Amazonas.

      Without wanting to belittle the problem of deforestation and fires in the Amazon, but there are red spots in other biomes. These biomes tend to suffer from the same intensity or even a greater intensity of fires compared to the Amazon. The cerrado, most of whose territory is located in the Center-West of Brazil, is being little by little deforested to make way for soybean plantations.

      There are also fires still burning in Canada from summer 2023. This blew my mind when I heard about them.
