      this is illegal the government made a law that no more than an amount of people are allowed to live in an apartment

      I don’t blame the govt for pursuing policies they believe (or believed) would grow Malta’s economy and benefit the country.

      But unconstrained greed is a sickness and people are being exploited all over the place. Malta’s reputation is already tanished – things needs to change or it will become unfixable.

      What a sad situation. I feel so angry and also powerless at the same time. We have festered a culture where we seem to be fine in exploiting third country nationals for profit.

      At least we always manage to raise upward of 2M come Istrina which seems to make us collectively feel better. Fuck the whole world for putting these people in such situations.

      At that point i would hit the landlord with something and go to prison – probably it will teach landlords a lesson and prison conditions are way better than this shit

      Yeah having 15 people in an apartment should be illegal like what the hell…

      As for the cleaning part that should be the tenants responsibility?
      I mean when someone moves out usually the landlord cleans the place for the next person ofc but i never heard of the landlord offering cleaning service while the person is living there. If nobody is cleaning up after themselves, cockroaches are going to move in as well every time …

      This is going the be the Standard living situation in big cities in the future in every country, malta is just ahead!

      Why would it be the landlords responsibility to clean your accommodation? The guy is clearly taking you and the other tenants for a ride and the worst part is you’re accepting it, which is why these people continue to do it. Its that simple.

      Even if i was in a bad position financially i wouldn’t put up with that its just stupidity.

      Most places are like this. This is the reason locals cant find housing. Cause the landlords rather have 15 people instead of a normal family.

      And also 0 enforcement.

      Just got off a call with some of the architects talking “oh add so and so cos its unsafe. Safe enough for 30 years in a house with children and basically just gonna make us lose more money for nothing, yet slumlords fill up 3 bed apartments with 15 people …. oh we dont talk about that.

      It should be illegal, but it is also the responsibility of the renter who agreed to the terms. If someone is trying to rip you off like this I’m sure they get a lot of complaints and try and avoid them. 

      We only see m to talk about rights, never about responsibility.
