can I have me land back now please?
In the treaty signed for Cyprus, the guarantor countries did not have the right of military intervention. Many people are not aware of this and have the misconception that Turkey acted within its rights when it invaded Cyprus.
I avoid any post about this on other subs because it just gets brigaded by Turkish bots with the absolute most bullshit takes lol
What happened after 20th of July is open to argument and without doubt I am not saying that it is 100% okay.
However;
1. Republic of Cyprus was without a constitutional order for 10 years on that day and still continues.
2. Greek Cypriots formed an illegal (still it is) army, National Guard.
3. EOKA-B is clearly an organization aiming for ENOSIS. Which violates treaty of guarantee agreement.
Under this conditions there are no chance of saying that 20th of July has no legal base. It does have. I wish Turkish army, Turkey and TC Leadership stayed loyal to what they said on the morning of 20th July 1974.
