Oft schaue ich mir Pinterest an und sehe albanische Städte, wie sie früher aussahen oder waren, und kann nicht anders, als ihre Schönheit und Eleganz zu bewundern. Ich weiß, dass Albanien während des Kommunismus von einer Bombe getroffen wurde, die einen Großteil seines Erbes und seiner Geschichte auslöschte, aber ich habe immer noch die Hoffnung, dass es heute zumindest einen dieser Orte in Shkodra gibt. Normally they have probably been turned into shithole slum looking neighborhoods or Cairo style huge buildings have been built there in 90s and turned into urban catastrophe.

Communism didn’t destroy anything, the so called Democracy vanished most of the old heritage buildings. Take Durrës for example, had the potential to be a marvel in the Balkans and it became a shithole of concrete just so some corrupted ones becoming richer.
